The 2019 MTV VMAs were just as awkward and cringey as we were hoping it would be. So come take a look at the most awkward moments from last year's awards.

Miley's had a new inking done since her split from husband Liam Hemsworth. It's a line from the Pixies' song 'The Thing', and reads: “My head was feeling scared, but my heart was feeling free.”
6. Oh, and when she very subtly changed the lyrics to 'Slide Away' when she performed it
At the end of the song, the lyrics are supposed to be "You're right, we're grown now." But in the live performance, Miley said, "You're right, I'm grown now."
7. When people were pretty sure Tana Mongeau got Newark and New York confused
Because, people are saying that surely Newark is not her favourite city. No offence, Newark...
8. And people were pissed about her bringing a snake on the red carpet
