You may have noticed something a little off with Love Island’s Michael recently. Namely that he’s become a tiny bit of a, well, a knob, to be honest. But viewers now have a theory on this.

In fairness to the firefighter, he has had a lot on his plate of late. Amber revealed to him on at least two occasions that she still has feelings for him despite him re-coupling with Casa Amor’s Joanna. And then Joanna was unceremoniously dumped from the villa, leaving him to make a big decision: should he stay or should he go, now? Well he stayed and Joanna called him a “f*cking snake.”

Cool. Cool cool cool cool cool.

It was after this tense evening that he told Amber to “sit down” as he said unequivocally that he was not interested romantically in her anymore.

But why’s he being so harsh at the moment? We’re pretty sure he was never like this before.

Well, viewers have taken to Twitter with a theory: they believe he’s over-egging the nasty pudding because of the nation calling him “whipped” by her a while back. During the mean tweets game, a viewer tweeted that they believed that basically Amber wore the trousers in the relationship, and now everyone thinks he’s trying to make a point that he is, in fact, not at all whipped.
