Remember what happened on Love Island 2017 when Jonny Mitchell embarked on a treacherous conversation with Camilla Thurlow about who should pay on a first date, which kickstarted a debate about equality? NOTHING GOOD CAME FROM IT.

Well, on last night's episode of Love Island, Chris brought up the topic while chatting idly to the other Islanders. He commented that he wouldn't let a woman pay on a first date, but he would want them to at least offer.

"I would never let a girl pay on the first date, but they need to offer, that's the thing..." he explained to Belle and Francesca. "They should go, 'Let me pay for it', or 'Let met pay half' It's just the bill dance. It's fine."

He then affirmed: "I'm never going to let a girl pay for it. It's just a dance that you've got to do. 'Oh I'll get...', 'No, don't be daft'."

Belle agreed with Chris

Some viewers were baffled over his expectation for a woman to offer, even though he said he wouldn't allow them to pay anything.

However, Belle and some viewers firmly agreed with Chris, and pointed out it was at least polite and less entitled to offer.

Paygate 2017 erupted between Jonny and Camilla when he admitted that he'd feel "emasculated" if a woman paid, before asking whether she disagreed because she was a "feminist".

Camilla explains to Jonny what being a feminist really means

When Camilla said that everyone should be a feminist, because it just means equality between the sexes, Jonny agreed on equality but thought feminism was "almost inequality."

Camilla shut him down, but they went their separate ways shortly after that. Just saying...

Meanwhile, we can't wait for the three new bombshells to enter the villa tonight - Chris might be taking one of them on a date very soon.... Let's hope the ITV2 can foot the bill.
