One of the recurring themes to come out of this year's Love Island is #PoorAlex.
Yes, poor Dr Alex, who is pretty much the only male Islander in this year's villa who has failed to find a spark with someone and therefore couple up in any romantic kind of way.
After the knock back with Megan - when she chose sneaky Eyal instead - the boys have rallied around him by giving him a haircut, lending him clothes, offering pep talks. Heck, he even practice-kissed on Adam... which looks like it will pay off after a teaser for tomorrow's episode showed him appearing to kiss newbie Ellie after their date.
There we go then. If Alex couples up with Ellie then everyone will have found a romantic partner? Er, wait. No. Not everyone.
Why has everyone seemed to forget that Samira - beautiful, talented Samira might we add - also hasn't found a man that's taken her interest, so instead has been in a platonic coupling with her pal Alex since the very first episode.
After watching last night's show, many people on Twitter picked up on this:
When you think about it, it's quite strange. We can't really recall any of the female Islanders giving Samira a pick-me-up. This, combined with the way the existing female housemates have treated the two new arrivals: Ellie and Zara, isn't doing much for womanhood, to be honest.
Or, perhaps the girls like Rosie and Laura are simply preoccupied as their partners - Adam and Wes - are being quite shady since the new girls' arrival?
Other viewers, though, weren't as sympathetic to Samira and questioned her motives for giving Alex a warning about Ellie, with some accusing her of putting her worries of jeopardising her place on the show ahead of looking out for Alex's feelings.
We hope that Samira is being genuine with her concern for Alex, as the two seem to have become good friends. But, at the same time, we also think it's fair for Samira to get some support in the same way Alex has.
