Warning: Spoilers below.
As Peaky Blinders continues its stellar fourth season, and we all try to get over the shocking death of Joe Cole's character John Shelby (RIP), it's been revealed that two of the Brummy gang are actually related in real life.
Finn Cole, who plays the recently departed's cousin Michael Gray in the gritty BBC drama, is in fact, Joe's real-life brother.
While Joe joined the cast for the first series back in 2013, his brother Finn joined a year later as Polly Gray's (played by Helen McCrory) long-lost son.
This isn't the first time the brothers have worked together, with them both making their acting debut in the 2012 movie, Offender.
The first episode of the fourth season saw Michael and John's lives hanging in the balance.
In the follow-up, it was revealed that in the bleak midwinter, John Shelby is indeed dead, having been gunned down by Mafia goons working for mobster Luca Changretta (played by Adrien Brody).
Speaking Digital Spy, Peaky Blinders creator and writer Steven Knight hinted that the busy schedule of rising star Joe Cole prompted John Shelby's demise.
"I'm not a believer in pulling a prominent character's death out of the bag in order to shock people or to get people to talk about it, because I think it's a law of diminishing returns," Steven said. "I think you have to be very careful.
"Sometimes it's to do with the character. Sometimes it's to do with… you know, Peaky is getting a huge amount of attention, in the States and here [in the UK], so our actors are being picked up for other things.
"When they get picked up for other things, we're not like the American system where you tie the actor in for five series from the beginning and they can't leave.
"All our people are free to leave whenever they want. We wouldn't have it any other way, but we have to factor that in."
Having left Peaky Blinders, Joe Cole will next be seen in an episode of Black Mirror season 4 and has also shot a number of films, including Woodshock opposite Kirsten Dunst and Thank You For Your Service with Miles Teller.
