Too Faced Cosmetics turned 20 this year 🎉 🎂, and to celebrate the birthday they launched an amazing glitter-themed collection inspired by the OG products from 1998. Over the past 20 years the brand have been behind some of the beauty industry's biggest icons, from the Lip Injection Plumping Gloss to the Natural Eye Palette, and so many more...
We went to Too Faced HQ to delve through their makeup archives and find all the other throwback products we've loved and lost. Hands up, who remembers these?
1. Lip Bronzer
Yes you read that correctly, Lip Bronzer. Remember back in the 90's when brown lipstick was the beauty trend du jour? Well, Too Faced opted for a glossy version inspired by their ever popular bronzing palettes... The result? Lip Bronzer.
2. Shimmer Veils
Forget Stila's Magnificent Metals, Too Faced's Shimmer Veils were the OG cream glitters. The gel formulas were packed with shimmer that could be pressed onto eyeshadow for a pop of glitter, or worn alone for an OTT sparkly finish.
3. Blushers
Hands up if you remember when Too Faced's blushers looked like this? Well congrats, you're officially a longtime Too Faced lover... From 'Pappa don't peach' to 'Pinch my petals' these blushes were super cheeky and super cute.
4. Lash'Gasm Mascara
Wayyy before Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara took over the world, there was Lash'Gasm (I'm sensing a theme). The mascara's tagline read 'It's the size of your lashes that matters', and the formula promised an ultra long, mega thick finish.
5. Mood Swing Lip Gloss
Move over mood rings, because *emotionally-activated* lip gloss is what we really need - or at least we did in 2008 (side note: how was that TEN years ago??)
6. Absolutely Flawless Concealer
Too Faced's OG concealer, Absolutely Flawless, gave full-on coverage to cancel out any dark circles, discolouration or blemishes.
7. The Smurfette Collection
Nowadays when you think 'makeup collab' it's usually an influencer, YouTuber, makeup artist or designer... But back in the good old days brands like Too Faced collaborated with true icons, y'know, like The Smurfs.
8. The OG eyeshadows
Did you know Too Faced's Co-Founder, Jerrod Blandino, was the first person to create a glitter eyeshadow? Yup, after blagging his way into the Estee Lauder makeup labs, he successfully managed to create a formula that combined the pigment and glitter. It was then that he decided to launch Too Faced Cosmetics and make eyeshadow history.
9. The natural eye palette
Too Faced's Natural Eye Palette has become something of an icon in the beauty world, but who remembers when it came in this little cardboard box? Yup, from cardboard to metal to plastic, this eyeshadow palette has been reimagined over and over, but the dreamy neutral shadows inside have stood the test of time.
