Addison Rae cannot say no to micro shorts. The “Diet Pepsi” singer can almost be classified as a connoisseur at this point, wearing a range of the popular style at almost all her performances. So, it’s no wonder she showed off a new pair in her longstanding collection in a behind-the-scene photo dump post-Coachella.

Rae posted a carousel on Instagram showing off a pair of black, super-tiny, low-rise fringe micro shorts. She also featured Britney Spears’ “Work Bitch,” on the post, which looks like another subtle nod to her biopic aspirations.

She paired the shorts with a white lace crop top with a scoop neckline and flared elbow-length sleeves and wore a black bedazzled cat mask. The entire outfit is a quintessential Addison Rae moment, with her midriff as the primary accessory.

Micro shorts have entered their own sort of renaissance in the last few years. From their sartorial forefathers—daisy dukes—we’ve seen the style take on a life of its own. And in its first viral moment and return, model Bella Hadid, was paparazzied wearing white miniature micro shorts while enjoying a slice of pizza. And we’ve seen it from some of our other favorite starlets, like Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Olandria Carthen, and Sydney Sweeney.

But Addison Rae is always taking fashion trends to the next level, raising the stakes in a way only a fearless influencer-turned-popstar can do. The added style detail of long, thin fringe pieces dripping to her calves makes the micro shorts a bit bohemian, elevating them from just a pair of tiny shorts (potentially resembling undergarments) into an elevated, risqué fashion moment.

Now, while we wouldn’t suggest wearing these just anywhere (unless your Addison Rae, of course), these fringe micro shorts are proof of where this staple trend is headed. And we can’t look away.
