Off Campus is skating its way into our lives. The first installment of Prime’s steamy book-to-television adaptation drops May 13, and if you’re wondering what the rest of the series will look like, think Bridgerton.
Off Campus is based on the first book in Elle Kennedy’s best-selling series about the hockey players of Briar University, but there are more installments to come and each focuses on a different couple.
“Bridgerton set that stage,” executive producer Leanna Billings told The Hollywood Reporter. “I think they did it amazingly well. For the fans, giving each of the characters their proper time to shine and have their moment is really important.”
In other words, you can expect to meet supporting characters in Season 1 who will turn into leads in follow-up seasons. And speaking of, Season 2 is filming right now.
“The fans of the books are so invested in each individual character, and the stories are so rich thanks to Elle, that it completely will be able to sustain their own season each,” executive producer Neal Flaherty says. “I can’t wait for the next one, which we’re starting to film now.”
In case you missed it, Prime recently dropped the full trailer for Off Campus, and we are seated to say the least.
Per the description, “A college drama based on Elle Kennedy’s bestselling book series, OFF CAMPUS brings the beloved Briar University universe to life in a sexy new series that centers on members of the elite Briar U ice hockey team and the women who love them. Set to a pulsating soundtrack, the show depicts college life in all its messy, meaningful glory. Between practice, parties, heartbreaks, and hookups, these students learn that college isn’t just about academics or championships—it’s about figuring out who you are, who you love, and all the complications that come with transitioning into adulthood.”
The first season follows Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham, whose fake relationship turns very real. A classic trope!
