If you’re reading this, gonna go ahead and assume you’re already well aware of the Taylor Swift x Toy Story theory taking over the internet. At least, the internet I live in. If not, a brief recap: everyone was minding their business yesterday when Taylor’s website suddenly changed to a countdown leading to 2 p.m. ET on May 2.
The countdown mysteriously disappeared after about 10 minutes, but fans immediately noticed that the clouds in the background look exactly like the clouds in Toy Story, leading to theories that Taylor will release a song for Toy Story 5.
And it looks like she’s been dropping Easter eggs that previously went unnoticed. Just a few days before the countdown launched, Taylor stepped out in New York City wearing a blue and white striped dress.
This dress is the exact same color as her cloud-themed countdown background—but there’s more! She paired the look with a yellow bag that’s the exact same color as Toy Story 5’s font in the poster. And her shoes? A deep red that’s a perfect match for the square behind the word “story.”
I mean, she is operating on ANOTHER LEVEL.
We can all agree that this is simply too much to be a coincidence, so we’re tentatively expecting a Toy Story-related announcement from Taylor on Saturday. TBD on if it’ll simply be confirmation that she’s providing a song for the soundtrack or if said song will actually be released, but stay tuned. And reminder that Toy Story 5 comes out June 19!
