Ever since production was paused on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives earlier this year, fans have been wondering whether (1) MomTok would survive this and (2) season 5 would ever see the light of day. But then: Word spread of an Orange County-set spin-off series starring Jen Affleck, and at long last, we finally have some details.

At the Hulu Get Real House event on April 22, it was finally confirmed that Hulu ordered The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County, featuring Bobbi Althoff, Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, McCall DaPron, Chandler Higginson, Ashleigh Pease, and Madison Bontempo...and apparently no Jen?

Per Hulu’s press release: “A new group of dynamic young mothers in Orange County collide in a community where beliefs are not just their religion; they are their identity. While some defend their way of life, fighting against modernity, others embrace change, becoming a platform to disrupt the status quo. Scandals and secrets will be revealed, facades will crumble, and families and friendships will change forever on both sides of the battlefield as this group of strong, game-changing influencers comes together to build their answer to #MomTok.”

Oh, and if you’re wondering what will happen with the OG MomTok crew, it was announced ahead of the Get Real House event that Mormon Wives would resume production…reportedly without Taylor Frankie Paul.

Disney’s reality chief Rob Mills later spilled more deets on the fate of the series, confirming to THR the show is, indeed, returning to production. “That does not mean that immediately we got cameras up. This has been a pretty significant break,” he said. “We have to look at where everyone is, what the stories will be. So I would say right now we are in active preproduction, and we’re figuring that out.”

For those who haven’t been keeping up: TMZ first broke the news on March 15 that production on the series had “hit an unexpected pause” due to a “blowup” between Taylor and her ex Dakota Mortensen. Soon after, a People source confirmed that the MomTok members “are not filming” and that “Taylor has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens. Until that resolves, they are off.”

It’s still not clear whether Taylor will be involved in season 5 going forward, but according to Rob, the door is open to her returning. “In terms of Taylor, first and foremost for me is just making sure that on a human level, she’s good and being taken care of,” he told THR. “And we’ll discuss the professional stuff once you get past all of that.”
