Curious to know what the buzz about Disclosure Day is all about? The oddly cerebral Spielberg movie is here, so here’s a declassified dossier on how to stream Disclosure Day and/or catch it in theaters while you can.

Mild spoilers ahead! The film follows a meteorologist named Margaret Fairchild (Emily Blunt) and a cybersecurity expert called Daniel Kellner (Josh O’Connor) as they race to leak evidence of a global conspiracy about extraterrestrial life and grabble with some… potentially linked and certainly interesting personal developments and past traumas. Oh, and the world is on the brink of another war. What else is new?

How can I watch this movie?

Disclosure Day hit theaters on June 12, 2026 in standard and premium (IMAX, 70mm, Dolby Cinema) formats. It is absolutely worth checking out in theaters if you’re able. Steven Spielberg literally invented the summer blockbuster with Jaws in 1975 so he knows better than most how to entertain a crowd. Plus, there’s kind of no better way to beat the heat than an air-conditioned cinema and a soda as big as your head.

When (and where) will Disclosure Day be streaming?

This is a Universal Studios film (with Spielberg’s own production company, Amblin Entertainment) and therefore will most likely end up streaming on NBC Universal’s platform, Peacock, after it’s available to rent on PVOD. That usually takes a few months. If we go backwards through Universal’s recent releases, we see that Michael (released April 24, 2026) and You, Me & Tuscany (April 10, 2026) are both in the PVOD stage. So is The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, an April 1 release.

Reminders of Him, which was released in theaters on March 13, 2026, will be available to stream on Peacock starting July 10. Promising! Using that math, we can expect Disclosure Day on Peacock in or around October.

What can I watch before Disclosure Day is streaming?

If you’re looking for movie recommendations to pass the time, I think there are three ways to go. You could watch other movies about “first contact” events between humans and aliens. It’s a big year for that, between this and Project Hail Mary. You could watch other Spielberg dramas that share DNA with Disclosure Day in more subtle ways. Or you could combine the two and have a Spielberg + Alien 4eva movie marathon. That’s your Venn Diagram, IMHO. Here are some suggestions!
