• Tom Hardy wasn’t fired from MobLand despite recent headlines.
  • Production insiders confirmed discussions are underway for his potential return to the Paramount+ series for Season 3, contradicting earlier reports of his dismissal from the show.
  • Helen Mirren also publicly debunked feud rumors with a supportive Instagram post on May 28.

Despite what you may have seen in the headlines this week, it turns out Tom Hardy hasn’t been fired from MobLand, after all. Following several reports that the actor was let go from the Paramount+ series ahead of its potential third season, a source close to the production has dropped more details to Variety and confirmed that “discussions are underway” for his return.

“Tom was not fired, the door is not closed for Season 3 and things are being worked through creatively,” the insider claimed.

The confirmation comes after reports of a rumored feud between Tom and his co-stars, Dame Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan, surfaced in outlets like Puck and The Hollywood Reporter.

One of THR’s sources alleged that tension between the castmates was due to Tom’s on-set behavior, saying, “He refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time. He kept the cast waiting, [which is] a power play. Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.”

Others told the Daily Mail that Helen “doesn’t like” Tom’s “lateness” or attitude, adding, “It has all become quite personal between them. It feels like Tom is winding her up. There is much chatter that he swaggers around like he’s the king. He is very, very arrogant. It’s a fantastic show and everyone loves working on it. It’s such a shame there is this undertone.”

In Variety’s recent update, a second source weighed in on the Helen of it all, saying, “Any actor is frustrated when they’re made to wait a couple of hours,” and confirming there was “no friction” between her and Tom.

“I know she’s said to him a couple of times, ‘Come on Tom, we’ve been here for ages, let’s get on with it,’ but she’s never appeared to be anti-Tom,” they added.

However, Helen herself spoke out amid the rumors with a simple Instagram post shared on Thursday, May 28. “Love you now and always,” she wrote alongside a photo of Tom, seemingly debunking reports of tension between them.

Tom has yet to address any of the reports publicly. It’s unclear whether MobLand will actually return for a third season after all this, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more details.
