- According to reports, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik were filming a Netflix documentary series highlighting a reunion-turned-road trip across the U.S. before it got scrapped due to an alleged physical altercation.
- The duo has allegedly had an on-again, off-again friendship since their One Direction days.
- Per fan captured footage, their former bandmate Niall Horan supported Louis during his show in Paris on Tuesday, April 21.
Directioners, this is not a drill: There’s been a mini One Direction reunion. Well, sort of, but fans will take anything they can get at this point.
On Tuesday, April 21, Niall Horan pulled up to cheer on and support his former bandmate, Louis Tomlinson, during his headlining show at Accor Arena in Paris.
Per fan-captured footage, Louis gave Niall a shoutout on stage mid-performance, saying, “Also, I wanna say, I’ve got a mate in the house today somewhere around there. Shout out to Niall! I appreciate you being here today, man, it means a lot. Thank you very much!”
Naturally, fans lost any ability to chill over the interaction. “The way they still show up to support each other after all these years… my heart actually can’t take it,” one person said, while another wrote, in part, “Niall really said let me catch a flight and support my guy. That’s just love fr.”
However, it seems that not every 1D member has as tight a bond.
^^^ This all comes amid a rumored rift between Louis and his other bandmate, Zayn Malik, which recently made headlines. In October 2025, Variety reported that Louis and Zayn were set to officially reunite for a three-part Netflix documentary series following them as they embarked on a cross-country road trip filled with “reconnection, exploration, and a lot of laughter.”
Though things seemed good between the guys after their sudden NYC reunion in September 2025, reports claim that they allegedly got into a physical altercation while filming the series.
Per The Sun, Zayn had made a “cruel comment” about Louis’ late mother who passed away in 2016, which led to a “physical fight.” The outlet’s source claims that the “Pillowtalk” singer had punched Louis while wearing rings, resulting in cuts on his head.
“The moment Zayn hit Louis and made a derogatory comment about his mum Johannah was all filmed,” a source told the outlet. “The series was supposed to capture a raw insight into Zayn and Louis’ relationship but this crossed a line.”
The Netflix docuseries was reportedly scrapped after the alleged altercation, which the singers have yet to confirm, if at all.
