Prince William was allegedly "disgusted" by Queen Camilla's behaviour in the lead up to Peter Phillips' wedding.
To recap, the son of Princess Anne tied the knot last month, marrying Harriet Sperling at the All Saints Church in Kemble, Cirencester. But while it was all smiles for the cameras on the big day, behind the scenes the Prince of Wales was seemingly upset with his stepmother.
According to a source who allegedly spoke to Radar Online, Camilla prevented Harriet from borrowing a tiara from the royal vault for her big day, much to the outrage of William.
"William was furious," an insider told the outlet. "He has a very close relationship with Peter and is disgusted that Camilla would try to stir up trouble on his wedding day just to show off her power." As for why Camilla denied Harriet's request, the Daily Express reported it was because the nurse is not part of the royal bloodline.
In response to Camilla's refusal to lend her royal jewellery to Harriet, William allegedly tried to overrule her, leaving the Queen Consort feeling equally frustrated at him.
"Even though it's a moot point now, Camilla is still mad," the Radar Online source went on. "She's accusing William of purposely undermining her."
In contrast to the ordeal surrounding Harriet borrowing a tiara from Camilla, Peter's first wife, Autumn Kelly, was allowed to wear Princess Anne's Festoon Tiara for their 2008 wedding. Similarly, Peter's sister Zara Tindall – who wed rugby player Mike Tindall in 2011 – also borrowed a royal tiara. She wore the Princess Royal's Meander Tiara.
