There's been no end to the number of fashion trends that have taken over our wardrobes this season, but clothing aside, it's actually our footwear game that's received the most attention. From the ‘00s jelly shoes making a comeback in fresh silhouettes to ballet flats expanding their horizons in so many different styles, and boat shoes reimagined for the fashion crowd (sorry, preppy dads).

The latest style joining the lineup? Studded wooden clogs. As the autumn collections start to drop, we're looking for pieces that we can wear now in the final weeks of summer but effortlessly transition into next season, and wooden clogs do just that.

If you weren’t around for the early 2000s – or don’t remember seeing these shoes everywhere – let us take you on a trip down memory lane. These horse-hoof-esque shoes were a majorly cool staple featuring in every It Girl’s closet. They were everywhere across wardrobes, loved for their distinctive silhouette that somehow managed to balance height with everyday wearability, and the studs that gave them extra cool points. Whether paired with casual outfits or dressed up, they were a huge part of the aesthetic at the time. And with today’s obsession with nostalgia and Y2K throwbacks, their return makes sense.

Fashion girls are eating them up in 2026! While the timeless shape and details remain, today's versions feel much fresher, with sculptural heels, unexpected embellishments, and even animal-print patterns. I do appreciate the bolder takes, but I’ve been looking for something a little more understated – a neutral pair with just enough height to work with my everyday style. That's exactly what I found in this pair from Marks & Spencer.

The two-inch heel is exactly my speed for everyday wear. It gives me just a little extra height without feeling like too much, which means I can actually wear them all day long. I also love the buckled strap as a nice point of detailing. As for the classic black colourway, it will pair with just about everything I live in, from denim and breezy dresses to flowy skirts and linen trousers.

The best part, however, is the fact that these beauties are on sale. Discounted by 50%, they're currently retailing for £33, down from £66. Real leather shoes for under £35? A deal!
