Although she's far from a Regina George (read: the trend-setter of army pants and flip-flops), when we saw Kate Middleton wearing a gingham dress earlier this year, we had to buy one ourselves.
To recap, the Princess of Wales stepped out in support of her husband at a polo match on July 10 wearing a black-and-white gingham dress from Temperley London. It featured a flattering square neckline, a tailored waist that can be tied at the front or back, and a full-bodied skirt that finished mid-calf. Honestly, it's the perfect summer 'fit, so we're not surprised Kate opted to wear it, given the sunnier days here in the UK of late.
Unfortunately, the Temperley London 'Stirling' dress worn by the princess is from an earlier season, so it can't be shopped new anymore. Nonetheless, there are plenty of resale sites where you might be able to find it or, if you keep reading, shop our pick of the best alternatives (at a more purse-friendly price).
Kate wore the sleeveless gingham gown with a pair of nude slingbacks, designed by Camilla Elphick. And the royal is clearly a fan of these kitten heels. The princess has worn the nude 'Lucia' heel (which is finished with a chic pearl buckle) on two previous occasions, and she also wore the black version on a visit to Evelina London at the start of July.
