Summer Fridays has come a long way from the Jet Lag Mask. What started as a chic brand focused on travel skincare has now turned into, basically, an empire. In 2026, it’s one of the biggest brands at Sephora (and likely on your For Your Page too), having won countless Cosmo beauty awards and expanded into fragrance and makeup. The next step? Bodycare.
Summer Fridays isn’t new to bodycare entirely, to be fair. They’ve had a Belly Balm for post-pregnancy for years (and it’s well-loved by Cosmo’s beauty director Lauren Balsamo). But the launch of the new Body Butter Balm and Body Fragrance Mist feels like a big step.
“Body care is the most routine-driven part of anyone’s day,” says Summer Fridays cofounder Lauren Ireland, “so the formula had to be something you looked forward to using every day.” The brand created a lotion/oil hybrid that “melts into your skin instantly and leaves a beautiful finish,” she says, noting that it makes pairing with the fragrance mist “effortless.”
And if it looks a bit familiar, that’s on purpose. “We looked at what people genuinely love about Lip Butter Balm—the nourishing, sensorial formula and those warm, nostalgic scents—and asked how that translates into something you use all over,” says Summer Fridays cofounder Marianna Hewitt.
The launch features three scents in both categories: Vanilla and Pink Guava, two well-loved existing Lip Butter Balm flavors, and introduced a brand new scent, Pistachio Milk for “anyone who wants something creamy and nutty,” says Hewitt.
I got to test the full launch early, and spoiler, but I love them so much. Keep reading for my full review of all three scents in both the Body Butter Balm and Body Fragrance Mist.
My review
Summer Fridays Body Butter Balm
I looooove that these are in a squeeze tube. I despise digging my fingers into a tub. The formula also isn’t so thick that you have to squeeze with all your might to get it out of the bottle. All of this together primes the application for a really easy process, and the formula is really just a bonus. Packed with hyaluronic acid, ceramides, squalane, jojoba oil, and three types of butters (shea, murumuru, and illipe butters), this cream is extremely rich. But it doesn’t feel heavy or sticky at all. I applied it all over my body after the shower last night, and my skin still feels soft and moisturized 10 hours later. Senior lifestyle editor Christen Johnson tested the formula too and loved how moisturizing it felt without the stickiness.
Summer Fridays Body Fragrance Mist
Admittedly, I used to hate body mists. Why would I spritz on this lightweight scent that’ll disappear in a few minutes when I could just use a perfume? But as we’ve had an extremely hot summer in NYC, I’ve become obsessed with how subtle a body mist feels. It’s refreshing to just spray myself down with a light scent in the middle of the day. And these are really, really nice. I really love spraying this all over my body after the shower or before bed. The Vanilla and Pistachio Milk are cozy, while the Pink Guava is invigorating and energizing.
The sleek packaging is also chic and sturdy. These aren’t the cheapest body sprays I’ve tried at $38, but they feel luxe and worth the price.
The scents and longevity
Notes:
- Vanilla: Vanilla cake, tonka bean, fluffy musk (for fans of the Sunlit Vanilla Eau de Parfum, just with a bit of added warmth and depth)
- Pistachio Milk: Pistachio milk, creamy woods, raspberry sugar (a nutty, creamy gourmand that isn’t too foodie or sticky sweet)
- Pink Guava: Pear blossom, guava nectar, strawberry flower (a bright fruity floral)
When I first sprayed the Pistachio Milk Fragrance Mist at the office, assistant beauty editor Jasmine Hyman quickly called out, “Oooh, I like that!” An hour or so later, someone came onto the Cosmo floor and immediately announced, “Wow, it smells so good up here.” We hear that semi often, but it’s usually strong perfumes that linger in the air for hours. For someone to smell a body mist a full hour later from across the hall definitely signaled that these have more longevity than many others I’ve tried.
Then, it happened again. In a meeting, hours after I sprayed it all over, deputy editor Emma Baty turned to her left and right and said, “one of you smells so good.” I wasn’t sure; I hadn’t sprayed any perfume on that day and put on the Vanilla Fragrance Mist nearly four hours before when I first got to the office. “It could be me, but I just sprayed on a body mist earlier. What does it smell like?” I asked. “Creamy, yummy vanilla,” she said, and I was stunned. It really did last that long.
It also felt good that others were as into the scents as I was. Pistachio Milk is easily my favorite, but Vanilla is a soft sweet scent that I can see myself layering with so many perfumes too. Pink Guava is fresh and fruity, but just isn’t my usual fragrance profile. Hyman was a big fan, though.
Final thoughts
The Summer Fridays Body Butter Balm and Body Fragrance Mist will be available to shop starting August 8. And if I were you, I’d get in line. Basically everything Summer Fridays launches is a sell-out risk. Considering the communal love of the Lip Butter Balm, I’d say these are about to fly off the shelves. Deservedly!
