Isabel and Erling have been together for nearly five years
Yep. According to the South China Morning Post, the couple first got together sometime in 2021. Despite their romance being a fairly recent development, the pair actually goes way back.
They played on the same soccer team as kids
When I say Erling and Isabel go way back, I mean it. Not only did they grow up in the same hometown of Bryne, a small town in southwestern Norway, but they each took part in the local soccer community as kids and even played on the same youth soccer team. In an October 2025 YouTube video, Haaland admitted, “She played football. We met and all of that. It’s nice because you understand football.”
She made the first move
I have to give Isabel her 10s here. The former footballer-turned-influencer took the term “shoot your shot” literally, as she made the first move when she and Erling reconnected as adults.
During an interview with NRK, Erling shared, “She sent me a message. But she played for the same club I played for, Bryne. So she checked me out, I didn’t check her out.”
They welcomed their first child together in 2024
The couple remains relatively low-key aside from their appearances on the field and in the stands, but in October 2024, Erling shared a cheeky post announcing that he and Isabel were expecting their first child. Their son, whose name has yet to be publicly shared, was welcomed two months later in December 2024.
The soccer star later admitted that being a parent has changed how he plays the game. During an interview with Sky Sports, he shared, “I’ve never felt better than now, and to be honest, with a kid, it makes me even better because I actually disconnect more than ever.”
He continued, “I don’t think of football at all, which sometimes, when you are younger, you think of this and that. You worry a little bit about things. But when I go home, I relax even more. I think I need to give a shout-out to my son.”
