News just broke that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are moving to England after several years living in California—and if you’re wondering where they’re going to live...same! The couple previously lived in Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate, which was given to them by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The Sussexes moved into the “cottage” (it was more of a mini mansion) shortly after their wedding and spent £2.4 million renovating it with money borrowed from the Sovereign Grant—which they paid back in full. However, after stepping down from senior royal duties and heading to California, they were “evicted” from the home after the publication of Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare.
So, where will they live once they head to the United Kingdom to start their new era later this month? People reports that the couple are “establishing a private, non-royal home base in Britain” and that the location of the “new home and the children’s school are being closely guarded.” This makes complete sense given their security concerns, and the fact that they aren’t returning to official royal duties and are therefore private citizens.
As for when Meghan and Harry are making moves, very soon. Their kids are said to be starting up school in September, and they’re planning to move to the United Kingdom to get settled ahead of the academic year later this month (like, in just a few weeks!).
