Kate Middleton and Prince William are leveling up their public relations tactics—by which we mean they've hired a new PR expert who specializes in crisis management.

People reports that Liza Ravenscroft from Edelman will join the press and public relations team at Kensington Palace, and she "has a background in crisis management."

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Julian Payne—King Charles' former communications secretary who's currently CEO of Edelman—could have played a part in the hiring. Per a source, "Julian Payne has stayed close to the King, so it is unlikely to be a coincidence that one of his most senior and respected members of staff has taken a key role in William's office after a period of turmoil - and when they are looking for closer alignment between Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace as minds turn to William's eventual succession."

All that said, a Kensington Palace insider noted that Liza would be operating in a "non-crisis" role despite her background.

Oh, and FYI, this comes amid some pretty significant royal scandals, including Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor being stripped of his royal titles, not to mention rumblings of tension between Prince William and King Charles.
