Two of the most prominent voices in the new Netflix docuseries, Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser, are Danny Cahill, winner of the eighth season, and Tracey Yukich, who faced a shocking medical incident during her first challenge on the show, which she claims left her temporarily dead.
"I don't remember a lot," Tracey recalls in the Netflix documentary, when describing how she passed out while running on the beach and emergency responders were called. "I remember hearing the helicopter. I just felt like I was floating. And then my grandpa was there. And then I saw darkness. But then I saw light. So I knew, I knew I died that day."
Now, Danny has spoken out in defence of Tracey, who received a brutal amount of trolling and criticism after her initial appearance on the Biggest Loser, with some branding her as being 'mean'.
On Facebook, Danny wrote about how he was pleased the programme is number one on the streaming platform right now, but urged viewers to remain kind.
"Please remember; the people some thought were evil people had things in their life that no one knew were going on, and were fighting to stay there!!! Tracey wasn't mean, she was FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE!," he said. "She was (and is) a hero, especially to me! Be sure to watch it soon! And keep an open mind when you do!!"
It seems the pair share a close friendship to this day following their appearances on the show, which is lovely to see.

On her own Facebook account, Tracey has also praised Danny and thanked him for his friendship. "I'm beyond grateful that we took on this project together. It's given us a place to be real—to share our stories, our anxieties, our thoughts, and to let go of control while trusting the process," she told her followers and friends. "Through it all, your friendship has been an anchor.
"The way you've supported me during this season has touched my heart in ways that words can't fully capture. I will always carry that with me, you are a true hero and someone to admire, keep pushing forward my friend-you got this, you always have!!!!"
