Lidl have got your Easter weekend snacks covered with their Hot Cross Bun flavoured ice cream, which we're totally gonna smother all over our hot cross buns. #Meta.
Now that we know which giant Easter egg we want and have stocked up on Aldi's answer to mini eggs, Hot Cross Bun ice cream seems like the next logical step in our Bank Holiday weekend plans.
The supermarket is bringing back the dream snack after it launched last year and became a huge success.
It'll set you back £1.99 and is available from 11th April (i.e. tomorrow) - but if you can't get your hands on a tub? You could always try your hand at smushing hot cross buns into vanilla ice cream with a spoon. Maybe.
The product release comes after the supermarket also launched a new wine, which they say tastes exactly like hot cross buns.
According to experts, the Moscatel Reserva de Familia, £6.99, is reminiscent of the traditional spiced and sweet buns thanks to its rich complexity and notes of raisin and fig."This rare Spanish wine from the historic Malaga region boasts unique aromas of raisins and sweet spice, very much like that of the cinnamon and nutmeg flavours in hot cross buns," says Richard Bampfield, Lidl's Master of Wine.
There are also four new hot cross buns in the retailer's Specially Selected line, including the delicious-sounding Rhubarb & Custard variety.
That's definitely our cue to run to Lidl to stock up.
