They say you should steer clear of talking about sex, money and religion if you want to avoid an argument, but it's Britain's favourite biscuit that's causing controversy today.
Namely because there are so many factors to take into consideration. Is it good for dipping? Does it have chocolate bits? How many do you get in a packet?
Channel 5 surveyed thousands of UK viewers for its show, Britain’s Favourite Biscuit, which aired last month to find out not only how many biscuits they eat, but what their favourite biscuit is.
Brits eat 52 biscuits per second on average, and the favourite 20 are as follows:
- Chocolate Digestive
- Chocolate Hobnob
- Jammie Dodger
- Custard Creme
- Shortbread
- Bourbon
- Jaffa Cake
- Ginger Nut
- Digestive
- Wagon Wheel
- Kit Kat
- Caramel Wafer
- Double chocolate chip cookie
- Rich Tea
- Fig Roll
- Milk chocolate chip cookie
- Malted Milk
- Chocolate Finger
- Hob Nob
- Chunky Cookie
JUSTICE FOR MALTED MILK. And can we talk about the fact Kit Kats are chocolate bars, not biscuits? Other shockers include a Fig Roll coming in a 15 (15?! More like 150), a plain Digestive making the top 10, and the lack of Party Rings in the list at all.
