After months of waiting, it's official: summer dress season is *finally* here, and even if you have a wardrobe chock-full of them, there's always space for one (or three) more. Because ultimately – and weather willing – you're likely to spend the majority of the next few months rotating through the dresses in your collection. So, unless you want to step out in the same 'fit every day, it's the more the merrier. At least that's what we're telling ourselves...

Making it even trickier to show any form of shopping restraint is the fact that summer 2026 has *so* many fab dress trends to offer. From boho paisley print styles and bandana scarf designs to drop-waist dresses, all of which would make an excellent addition to even the healthiest of fashion collections. But if you only choose to invest in one 2026 summer dress trend this year, there's one style that should be top of your list: the puff sleeve dress.

It's not exactly new, of course – puff sleeve dresses have been a summer staple since forever, but they've enjoyed a recent renaissance thanks to the #cottagecore trend spearheaded by brands such as Batsheva, Hill House Home, Dôen and LoveShackFancy. Scandi labels like Ganni and Cecilie Bahnsen have been longtime proponents of the romantic silhouette, too.

Which leads me onto my next point: by their very nature, puff sleeve dresses are *perfect* for date nights, and provide the ideal one-and-done look that summer so uniquely calls for. No fuss, no sweat, no tears: simply pull it on, add some accessories, and you're good to go. If only the actual dating part were quite so simple!
