We all know that social media (Instagram I'm looking @ you) doesn't like 'free the nipple' images. Sigh. However (!!) Jade Thirlwall may have just found a very clever loophole, debuting a naked looking dress over on the app. You can't ban sequins, right?!
The look was shared on IG earlier this evening [28 February] via Wonderland magazine. As they announced, Jade dons the cover of their spring 2025 issue and for the occasion, was styled in said naked dress. The Balmain designed number is figure-hugging and floor length but more importantly, adorned with a nude body print.
Scroll through to the seventh slide in the below carousel post to see the clothes-free dress (make it make sense) in all its glory:
Stunning and clever, in equal parts!
That all said, naked-illusion outfits are nothing new... we been knew! Over the past few years, Jean Paul Gaultier (the designer of the dress that Jade happens to wear in the fifth slide) has become synonymous with optical illusion naked dresses; From nude tops to head-to-toe jumpsuits, the brand has dressed many a celebrity in their risqué looks, including Ashley Graham, Paris Jackson, Sabrina Elba and Vick Hope, to name a few. So, it's no surprise that Balmain and Jade have followed suit!
Whether you're a fan of naked fashion or not, we can all agree on the importance of body autonomy and acceptance – right, Instagram? And bold celebrity style is only continuing to be a vehicle for that.
