As you may well be aware, it's the first Monday in May...which means it's the Met Gala, aka pretty much *the* most important fashion event of the year (sorry fashion week!). Held annually at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, the Met Gala is a time when us normies get to see our fave celebs parading the red carpet in out-of-this-world designer fits. And this year's Met Gala already seems as fab as ever, with the theme "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" inviting guests to step out in gorge looks inspired by the late designer's tenure at Chanel.
One celeb who definitely did not disappoint is the one and only Dua Lipa, the pop icon (and soon-to-be Barbie star) who arrived on the red carpet and promptly had our jaws on the floor. Dua - who is one of the event's co-chairs this year, alongside Penelope Cruz and Michaela Coel - wore a cream, vintage Chanel ball gown from 1992. With a figure-hugging bodice, full-skirt and fringed detailing at the hem, it was fairytale princess meets 90s Chanel supermodel - and we're so here for it.
The outfit was accessorised with a diamond jewellery - most notably a statement pendant - by Tiffany & Co and Dua wore her hair loose and lowkey. Clearly, Dua was born to slay this theme: her outfit is elegant, classy and chic, but somehow still retains a sense of fun.
It's a hard outfit to top, that's for sure!
