H&M has a history of collaborating with designers at the top of their game – Magda Butrym in 2025, Rokh the year before, plus collections with Rabanne *and* Mugler, both released in 2023. Certified sell-out events, the drool-worthy collections provide access to high-end fashion at affordable price points, a winning formula the high street hero has been relying on since the early noughties. Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?
Some may remember all the way back to 2005 when Stella McCartney first collaborated with H&M, following in Karl Lagerfeld's footsteps to become the second-ever design collaboration. The entire collection sold out within days, sparking a shopping frenzy in the process. Well, over twenty years on, the iconic British designer is back, reuniting with H&M on yet another collection that officially drops online and in select stores, today – 7 May at 9AM.
“I see this collection as a journey through my fashion history,” Stella shared ahead of the release. “It is a true mix of current classics and some of my old favourites that showcase my first forays into fashion and the development of my signatures. It's playful, strong, sparkling, joyful, refined.”
Sharp tailoring features, natch, in the form of sweeping trenches and oversized shirting alongside more playful designs emblazoned with slogan designs and bejewelled embellishments. And, because this is Stella we're talking about, recycled fabrics have been prioritised in line with the designer's sustainability advocacy.
