1Killing Eve
BBCWe were all pretty obsessed with Killing Eve as soon as it landed in 2018. The characters, the script, the styling - it was all flawless. So, when the show ended with Villanelle being killed off right after she and Eve finally got together fans were not at all happy. Quickly, Twitter was full of people calling the series finale "embarrassing" and a lot of them quite *literally* re-writing the episode online. Yikes.
2Skins
E4By the time we'd been through six seasons of Skins it had changed dramatically from that famous montage of Tony and the gang taking pills and getting with each other all soundtracked to Beth Ditto. It had got progressively darker as the seasons went on, until eventually the finale season revisited the second generation plus Cassie, and just made us all feel very gloomy.

3Line of Duty
BBCThere is an episode of Line of Duty in series 3 that has earned itself a near perfect IMDb score 9.6. Fast forward a few years to the finale of season 6 and the show's consistently high score plummets to a measly 5.1. Guess they'll just have to make up for it with another series, right?
4Game of Thrones
HBOGame of Thrones is another one that somehow slipped from an IMDb rating of 9.9 for S6 E9 The Battle of The Bastards to an embarrassing 4 for the show's finale (S8 E6). It was widely hated, to put it mildly. People were dissatisfied with the all-too-happy conclusion after years of brutal war, plus they felt that lots of nuanced storylines were rushed in the final few episodes. The overwhelming opinion was, we did not wait eight years for them to give us Bran.

5The Sopranos
Warner Bros. The Sopranos has always been considered one of the best series out there, but the finale ended up being a bit of a bone of contention for fans. Essentially the sixth and final season ended on a cliffhanger, with a man appearing where Tony Soprano and his family are eating dinner. We have no idea whether the man killed Tony or not, a detail that some fans loved and others couldn't have hated more.
6Girls
HBOFans found the Girls finale somewhat anticlimactic. After years of relatable millennial stress and city living for lead character Hannah to just end up moving to a colossal house in the countryside to raise a baby with her mum and Marnie felt like a bit of a cop out, and an unrealistic one at that.

7Dexter
CBSMost fans thought Dexter had already started to go downhill towards the later seasons, with many of them pretty ready to just call it quits. But the final episode, in which we discover that Dexter is not actually dead but has started a new life somewhere working as a logger, was considered cliché by many.
8Sex and the City
HBOWhether you like the Sex and the City finale or not generally depends on whether you are Pro-Big or Anti-Big. For those fans in the latter camp the closing scene, in which Big rushes to Paris to declare his love for Carrie and bring her back to New York, was not well received...

9Lost
Beuna Vista TelevisionWhen Lost first aired back in 2004 it was huge. The performances were stellar, the storylines were captivating and the hotties were hot. But it all started to tail off a few seasons in and by the time we got to the finale and discovered the characters were all in some kind of purgatorial judgment, we felt like asking for our money back.
10Scrubs
Scott GarfieldScrubs would not have made this list had it simply finished where it was supposed to at the end of season 8. Unfortunately for us, it was brought back for a disastrous ninth season with a load of new characters. As you can imagine, it tanked.

11Gossip Girl
Warner Bros.People weren't happy to discover that after all that Dan Humphries had been the blogger known as 'Gossip Girl' all along. Quickly people started poking holes in the reveal and pointing out that this must not have been something the writers had known all along, since it didn't really fit. Meanwhile, the final scene showing a new group of upper east siders starting their cliquey journey had fans feeling, well, just a little exhausted actually.
