19 stars you'd forgotten were in Game of Thrones
Including a Pirates of the Caribbean and a Lost star.
It might be slightly more adult in tone, but as far as acting talent goes, HBO's fantasy epic Game of Thrones now occupies the same space as the Harry Potter movies once did. If you're a British star of any note and you've not yet appeared in the series, get your agent on the phone.
But while GoT fans are sure to remember the major performances, plenty of recognisable faces have also shown up in smaller roles. Do you remember all of this lot?
Finn Jones
Before he was Danny Rand, the immortal Iron Fist, sworn protector of K'un-Lun, Finn Jones appeared on GoT as Margaery Tyrell's supposedly badass brother Ser Loras.
Mackenzie Crook
The BAFTA-winning star of The Office, Detectorists and Pirates of the Caribbean played warging wildling Orell in six episodes of season 3.
Burn Gorman
Torchwood's Burn was horrid Karl Tanner, a brother of the Night's Watch who turned mutineer and was later slain by Jon Snow. He appeared in four episodes.
Richard E Grant
Grant appeared in three episodes of season 6, in the rather unshowy role of Izambaro, who was (ironically) lead actor of a a Braavosi theatre troupe.
Will Tudor
Android Odi in Humans and now appearing on Shadowhunters, Tudor appeared in seven episodes as Loras's lover Olyvar.
Roxanne McKee
Now appearing in Sky One's Strike Back, McKee – formerly Hollyoaks' Louise Summers – played handmaiden Doreah, who taught Daenerys the ways of the sex.
Kerr Logan
Matthos Seaworth, son of Ser Davos, was killed in the Battle of Blackwater. You'll recognise actor Logan from the BBC's Strike, where he plays Robin's fiancé Matthew.
Clive Mantle
Mantle appeared in three early episodes of GoT as doomed House Stark ally The Greatjon Umber.
Karl Davies
He appeared just briefly on GoT as a Lannister cousin killed by Jaime. But Davies featured more prominently in Emmerdale – as Robert Sugden no. 3 – and Happy Valley.
Roger Allam
Now appearing in ITV's Endeavour as Fred Thursday, Allam was Varys' ally Illyrio Mopatis. He replaced Ian McNeice, who played the part in the unaired GoT pilot.
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje
Lost's Mr Eko, Akinnuoye-Agbaje played Malko, captain of a slaving ship who captured Jorah and Tyrion in two episodes of season 5.
Hannah John-Kamen
Killjoys star John-Kamen has upcoming roles in Ready Player One and Ant-Man and the Wasp, so expect to see even more of her soon. In 2016, she played Ornela, a member of the Dosh khaleen and ally of Daenerys.
Thomas Turgoose
Not only was This Is England's Turgoose shortchanged with a brief role as an unnamed Lannister grunt, he also had to share the screen with Ed Sheeran. Poor Tommo.
Alexandra Dowling
The Musketeers fans will recognise Dowling as Queen Anne. But do you remember her brief role as Roslin, daughter of Walder Frey and bride at the infamous Red Wedding?
Tamar Hassan
Straight-to-DVD hardman Hassan played Khal Forzho, a Dothraki, in season 6. He appeared in just one episode, with no official promo shots of him appearing to exist.
Edward Tudor Pole
The man best known for replacing Richard O'Brien as host on the original Crystal Maze played a protestor spreading dissent against King Joffrey in season 2.
Rila Fukushima
She played a Red Priestess in season 5's 'High Sparrow', but Fukushima is better known for playing Yukio in The Wolverine (2013) and Katana in Arrow.
Freddie Stroma
UnREAL's Stroma – Cormac McLaggen in the Harry Potter films – appeared in season 6 as Samwell's brother Dickon Tarly. Tom Hopper replaced him the following year.
Royd Tolkien
Bonus! You might not know his face, but you'll know his name. Royd, great grandson of JRR Tolkien, was a wilding in 'Hardhome' – a nod to the debt GoT owes Lord of the Rings.
