If you've been online this week and last weekend, the likelihood is you've seen all the stuff about Lily Allen's new album - in which she refers to a woman named Madeline in two songs.
In the songs, which are loosely "inspired" by things the singer experienced in her marriage with Stranger Things actor David Harbour (who she split from in December 2024), Lily talks about being jealous of this woman and alludes to an open marriage.
In 'Tennis' she sings: "So I read your text, and now I regret it/ I can't get my head 'round how you've been playing tennis / If it was just sex, I wouldn't be jealous / You won't play with me and who's Madeline?"
In 'Madeline', the 40-year-old, goes a little deeper, saying: "How long has it been going on? Is it just sex or is there emotion?/ He told me it would stay in hotel rooms, never be out in the open."
Following the album drop, fans began speculating who this mysterious woman might be. And it wasn't long before a face was put to the name, with costume designer Natalie Tippett claiming she had an affair with David Harbour.
From clues in Lily's lyrics to Natalie and David following each other on Instagram, here's all the clues that she is in fact the Madeline mentioned in Lily's new album.
Natalie is a costume designer
Natalie, 34, is a costume designer from New Orleans and is said to have met David, 50, in 2021 while on the set of Netflix's We Have A Ghost, in which he played the lead.
According to reports, their alleged affair began shortly after filming began and Harbour reportedly flew Tippett to his home in Atlanta once production wrapped.
Natalie responded to Lily's West End Girl lyrics
In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail, Natalie confirmed that she'd heard the lyrics from Lily's new album.
She said: "Of course I've heard the song. But I have a family and things to protect. I have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and I understand this is going on. It's a little bit scary for me."
When asked if she was aware that her private texts had been used in the new music, She replied: "Yeah. I just don't feel comfortable talking about it at the moment."
Natalie and David follow each other
Natalie and David still follow each other on Instagram.
While Natalie has just over 3k followers and is following just under 2k accounts, David has a whopping 8.4 million followers and is following 974 people - one of those being the costume designer.
Natalie is American
So? You might ask.
In the interlude of 'Madeline', we hear from this mysterious woman who says in an American accent: "Hey, he is telling you thе truth (Madeline) /Our relationship has only еver been about sex/ I can promise you that this is not an emotional connection (Madeline)/ We don't speak outside of the time we spend together (Madeline) / And whenever he talks about you, it's with the utmost respect."
Fans of the singer will know that Lily is originally from the UK and was born in London's Hammersmith. She relocated to New York in 2020 with her two daughters after marrying David.
Natalie is American, specifically from New Orleans. Combined with the fact that she met David on the set of We Have A Ghost and that they still follow each other on Instagram, it's really starting to add up.
Lily's song lyrics
This might seem way off, but Lily Allen ends 'Madeline' with the lyrics: "Love and light, Madeline". The phrase "Love and light" often carries spiritual or New Age connotations and is regularly used in Yoga.
From Natalie's Instagram, she appears to be into astrology, posting a photo with the caption: "Scorpio season". She also has a crystal ball in her bio and if you go back a few years, you'll see that she used to practice yoga!
Cosmopolitan UK has contacted David Harbour for comment.
