We're now nearly a month into Married at First Sight Australia, and honestly our obsession with this chaotic reality dating show never ends. And for the first time ever in the show's 12 season history, tonight's episode will show two former cast members return to get married to a new spouse. Talk about a way to keep us invested. So who is returning? Well high standard groom Eliot is coming back at another shot of love.

Following his very short marriage to Lauren in the show's opening episode, Eliot is returning and this time he's getting married to Veronica. But will she live up to his standards? And are the couple still together now? Consider this your cheat sheet to all things Eliot and Veronica.

Remind me again, who is Eliot?

Ok so back in episode one of the series 35-year-old business owner Eliot was matched and married to 37-year-old Lauren. While on their wedding day they hit things off, things quickly went downhill with Eliot revealing he was unhappy with his match.

He disliked Lauren's age, her "materialism" and that she only wanted one child. He ultimately felt they shouldn't have been matched and left theory honeymoon two days in.

Eliot returned to Sydney where he had a sit down chat with expert John Aiken and told him what he didn't like about the match. He didn't end up turning up for the first dinner party, leaving Lauren to face the rest of the group by herself.

What happens for Eliot and Veronica on MAFS Australia?

After a few weeks away from our screens Eliot is returning for his second wedding on the series. The experts were a bit on the fence about allowing Eliot to return to the experiment given his long list of non-negotiables in a future bride but ultimately they decided to pair him with 32-year-old personal trainer and actress Veronica.

On their wedding day Eliot confesses this isn't his first MAFS rodeo, which Veronica's friends seem less than thrilled with, however, the pair get on well and they're off on their honeymoon. During the trip Veronica opens up about her endometriosis to Eliot, who is empathetic to her situation.

They join the rest of the group for their first dinner party together, where the cast question Eliot's integrity and he decides to call Lauren out, including claiming she drank five margaritas on their honeymoon and so "you won't remember" the conversations she had. His new bride is not on board with this shaming and calls him out, which is their first disagreement as a couple.

They then have their first commitment ceremony where Veronica reveals talking to Lauren was "confronting" and Eliot later shocks everyone by saying his checklist of requirements in a bride is gone. The couple both chose to stay in the experiment.

Later in the series Veronica arranges to meet up with Lauren for a 1 to 1 chat about Eliot and it leaves her feeling confused about the state of her marriage.

The couple do the photo ranking challenge and while Eliot places Veronica first, she ranks him third, doing her ranking based on "men's emotional availability." Ouch. They also do the letter writing task, where Eliot writes a very candid and emotional story about his younger sister being in a coma, and revealed the impact it had on him and his family. However, Veronica is unmoved by the story and the pair later get into an argument, which results in Veronica moving into a different apartment.

The next dinner party sees them enter separately as Veronica doesn't want anything to do with Eliot after numerous arguments.

The rest of the group and later the experts at the commitment ceremony try to get Veronica to understand how open and vulnerable Eliot was in sharing his deep story with her, but she still seems pretty unphased by it. John calls her out on her behaviour and she does end up apologising to Eliot.

The couple then have a pretty chill week all things considered until the next dinner party when its revealed to the group Veronica went to speak to Lauren about her relationship with Eliot. Despite this, they both chose to stay on in the experiment.

During feedback week the couple continue to argue and honestly, it seems like there is no hope of moving forward for these two.

Are MAFS Australia's Eliot and Veronica still together?

Nope! During the sixth commitment ceremony in episode 29 of the series, after weeks of tension the pair agree to leave the experiment and end their relationship.

In her exit interviews with broadcaster Nine, Veronica said she felt it was "like drawing blood from a stone" when it came to Eliot. She also opened up about why she wanted to meet with Lauren to discuss her husband, explaining: "When I initially started to see signs of Eliot's true colours, I was looking for someone who had also experienced him.

"No one else in the experiment had met him – she was married to him, she had the opportunity to meet friends and family at the wedding... and to be fair, towards the end of my relationship that's what I saw in him as well."

Meanwhile Eliot was commended by expert John for his personal development in the experiment.
