Tommy Fury has opened up about the argument he and Molly-Mae Hague had just minutes before he proposed, after she accused him of cheating on her because he was acting suspiciously.
The 25-year-old has shared an extract from his new book Lightning Can Strike Twice with The Daily Mail, and has opened up about what happened when he got engaged to his Love Island sweetheart last year.
Tommy planned a surprise proposal in Ibiza in July, where he waited at a viewing point surrounding by flowers, while holding their daughter Bambi. But on the way to the big moment, Molly thought Tommy was cheating on her, because he was trying to keep her away from his phone in case it ruined the surprise.
"In the car, Molly asked if she could have a look at the pictures we had taken on my phone. I immediately panicked because if she went on to my camera roll, she would see photos I had just been sent of the setting of our proposal," he writes in the book.
"She thought I might be messaging another girl. I was fuming. I couldn't believe she would think that, but I also reminded myself that I was acting shifty, so it was fair enough. Ten minutes before I was due to propose, we were in the middle of this blazing row."
When they arrived at the destination, Tommy explains how he jumped out of the car and ran ahead so he could get into position, while his brother had secretly flown out with their daughter, so she could be there for the big moment.
"As I legged it, Molly was almost in tears, thinking I had abandoned her. I had the ring in my pocket and Bambi in my arms. Molly come [sic] round the corner, and then she saw us, the flowers and the ocean view. She started to cry tears of joy, I hoped, and I felt very emotional, too.
"I kissed Molly, handed her Bambi and gave a little speech before going down on one knee and opening the ring box."
Molly and Tommy met in the Love Island villa in 2019, moving in together after the show. In January 2023, they welcomed their daughter Bambi into the world, while Tommy proposed last July.
Fans were then shocked by news of their split in August 2024, when Molly took to Instagram Stories to share that they had broken up. Here's to hoping both Tommy and Molly are doing OK.
