We were all pretty sad to hear the news back in November last year that our favourite morning-coffee-walks couple had split; Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes were together for a solid two years before calling time on their relationship. Well, now he has posted an emotional video on Instagram in which he talks about the aftermath of the split, explaining that it was tough to feel like he was on his own.

Shawn and Camila's relationship came to an end in November 2021, with the pair issuing a joint statement explaining that they would continue to be friends but that their romantic relationship had run its course.

Fans were pretty sad to hear the news, since these two had always seemed so adorable and happy together. But of course, we all wished them both well.

Well, it looks like Shawn is reopening fans' old wounds, since he recently posted a video on Instagram in which he appears to be writing a song about the split, and the whole thing is pretty emotional.

"A lot of the thing that is resonating in the lyric for me is like 'oh f***', you don't realise- when you're like breaking up with someone and you think it's the right thing you don't realise all the sh** that comes after it," he explains while playing the piano. "Which is like, 'who do I call when I'm in a panic attack?' 'who do I call when I'm like f***ing on the edge?'

"And I think that's the reality that kind of hit me, like I'm on my own now. And now I feel like, finally, I'm actually on my own and I hate that, you know? That's my reality, you know?"

Obviously, the video had fans very emotional, with lots of them leaving comments of support for the pair.

"u tryna make me cry or what," one person wrote, while another said, "Okay but… drop the song shawn. I’m ready to cry," and someone else commented, "NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS WE STILL LOVE U."

I mean, they're not wrong. If this is how emotional it was to write the song, imagine how badly we're going to be bawling when the song actually comes out?!
