We all know Bridgerton involves some pretty steamy scenes. There's a reason Ashton Kutcher thought wife Mila Kunis was watching porn when he caught her binging series 1. But, that's not to say that a lot of thought doesn't go into these carefully choreographed moments. In a recent interview series star Jonathan Bailey revealed what the key focus had been when filming intimate scenes for series 2, and it's actually pretty great.

Speaking about the show's spicy moments Bailey, who plays Anthony Bridgerton, explained that it's far more than just sex.

"There's so many people who will go, 'Oh yeah, Bonkerton,'" he told Entertainment Weekly. "But the female gaze is so important because there are many ways people communicate by sex, and what sex means, and what your body means to someone else. It's important that there's an inversion of sexuality and how people are exploited in the storytelling of sex."

Later in the interview, new cast member Sex Education's Simone Ashley adds that her character, Kate Sharma, plays into this idea. While Phoebe Dynevor's Daphne Bridgerton was pretty naive about sex, Kate's character is quite different.

"There's always been a familiarity deep down with what Kate wants," she explains. "That's what I love about shows like Bridgerton and Sex Education; They might be touching on slightly taboo topics, but these characters know what they want."

Sounds like series 2 of Bridgerton is the female gaze series. Great news.
