Jesy Nelson took home a gong at the National Television Awards on Tuesday night for her record-breaking BBC Three documentary Odd One Out – and social media went wild for her win and the emotional speech that followed.

Jesy, one-quarter of phenomenally successful band Little Mix, created the personal documentary to explore the effects of cyberbullying and life in the public eye. The documentary became the top factual programme for BBC Three – the first programme to set the record since the channel moved online.

At the 25th annual NTAs, Odd One Out scooped the Factual Award and a tearful Jesy gave a moving speech as she took to the stage to collect the gong.

She thanked her team, her mum, and her boyfriend Chris Hughes "for ringing me up every day and making me feel confident".

The Little Mix star also mentioned the strength of all the people that featured in the emotional documentary:

"I want to thank every single person [who] was in the documentary for being so brave and courageous to tell their own story to the world."

Jesy's fans were thrilled with the singer's well-deserved win - as was bandmate Jade Thirlwall who was watching from home and posted a string of sweet Instagram stories congratulating the star.

A huge congratulations to Jesy from us, too!
