Katy Perry is reportedly on such good terms with Taylor Swift that she’s received an invitation to her and Orlando Bloom’s future wedding.
The reunited friends have built a strong connection in recent months after they appeared together as a burger and fries in Taylor’s star-studded music video for ‘You Need To Calm Down.’
An insider has now told The Sun that their renewed relationship isn’t just for the cameras.
“Katy and Taylor haven’t just made up, they are now very close friends. Katy genuinely hopes Taylor and her boyfriend Joe Alwyn make the wedding. It’s a clear sign of just how much they have moved on.”
In an interview for Vogue’s September issue, Taylor addressed their reconciliation and pointed out that the media played a big part in their misunderstanding: “She came over and we talked for hours.
“We decided the metaphor for what happens in the media is they pick two people and it’s like they’re pouring gasoline all over the floor. All that needs to happen is one false move, one false word, one misunderstanding, and a match is lit and dropped.
“That’s what happened with us. It was: Who’s better? Katy or Taylor?…The tension is so high that it becomes impossible for you to not think that the other person has something against you.”
For anyone hoping their friendship might extend into a professional collaboration, Katy told Capital FM that she’s “open” to making music together.
“I think she’s really intelligent, there’s lots of layers to her. You know, I get the singles, a lot of people know us from the singles but when you dig deep, there’s depth.”
