SPOILER ALERT: Spoilers for Game Of Thrones season 8, episode 5 ahead…
Line of Duty actress Laura Elphinstone made a small but key appearance in the latest episode of Game Of Thrones.
In the BBC police thriller, Laura portrayed Detective Inspector Michelle Brandyce, a series five character brought in from the anti-corruption team AC3 to investigate Ted Hastings.
But her assignment on the fantasy epic was a world away from those stuffy interrogation rooms, with the fifth episode of the final Thrones season witnessing the 36-year-old negotiate her way through King's Landing as Daenerys Targaryen rained dragon fire upon the capital's residents.
Laura's character and her daughter shared a sweet moment with Arya Stark, after she saved the heroic young warrior from being trampled to death by the city's panic-stricken crowd.
Arya tried to return the favour later on, but Laura and her child were tragically killed in all the chaos.
Chatting to the Sunderland Echo, the actress shared her excitement at working on such a spectacular project, saying: "I loved filming Game of Thrones, and I've worked in some amazing theatres, but it's also been a real joy to do some work on screen – this is so big it's like a film set."
