Fashion icon and The Hills: New Beginnings star, Whitney Port, just bravely discussed how she's feeling following her second miscarriage – something she's spoken about candidly in the past, in the hopes of helping others. Whitney shared her recent thoughts through an Instagram Story, while meeting her newborn nephew, Tate, and remarking that her own child was due to have been born during the same week.

"Crazy to think I would have had a newborn within this week too," she wrote alongside an adorable photo of her holding her sister Jade's son. "Jade and I got pregnant at the exact same time last fall (isn't that wild?) and then I miscarried at 8 weeks."

Whitney continued on to add, "Sad to really think about it, but I just wanted to say it just to get it out of my head and send everyone who is dealing with some kind of fertility issue a virtual hug."

Having previously spoken out about miscarrying in July 2019 on her podcast, Whitney (who has a son, Sonny Sanford, 3, with her husband Tim Rosenman) said she was passionate about using her platform to encourage others to have "difficult conversations" surrounding baby loss.

Speaking about her first miscarriage two years ago, Whitney said she felt guilty in the aftermath, which then turned to sadness and relief.

"My identity has been shaken in regards to who as I am as a mom and human being," she explained. "I'm currently in the process of learning to accept that my feelings are valid no matter what they are. Whether or not people feel the same way as me or not. They are my personal emotions that are the result from my own journey."

Everyone's clicking on...

Earlier this year, in January, Whitney shared an emotional Instagram post about her most recent loss, "Hey, Everyone. This is not an easy one," she began. "We decided to start vlogging for our YouTube channel a couple months ago to share two stories: Renovating a new house and a new pregnancy journey. Sadly, I lost the pregnancy."

Whitney added, "Timmy and I weren't sure if we still wanted to put this out there. I wasn't sure I wanted to relive the pain. However, this time around, I felt differently about the situation. Last time, I don't think I was ready to have another child, and I had different feelings about the miscarriage.

"This time, I really connected. I was actually excited and enjoying the pregnancy. I envisioned it all. I’m sad but I’m ok and we will try again. So here’s our story. I also have so much sadness in my heart for anyone that has to go through this or has gone through this."

We're sending all our love to Whitney and her family.
