Just days after revealing he is experiencing facial paralysis after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, Justin Bieber has given fans an update on his condition.
"Each day has gotten better and through all of the discomfort I have found comfort in the one who designed me and knows me. I’m reminded he knows all of me," the singer wrote on his Instagram Story, referencing his religious faith. "He knows the darkest parts of me that I want no one to know about, and he constantly welcomes me into his loving arms."
Justin continued: "This perspective has given me peace during this horrific storm that I’m facing. I know this storm will pass but, in the meantime, Jesus is with me."
Last week, the 28-year-old took to social media to tell fans he had been forced to cancel a series of his shows set to take place during his Justice tour because of a virus that has caused "full paralysis" on one side of his face. The Peaches singer posted a video on Instagram revealing his Ramsay Hunt syndrome diagnosis, which has caused nerve damage to his ear.
Ramsay Hunt syndrome is usually identified by painful rashes around the ear, face, or mouth, and during the video, Justin revealed he was suffering from a "pretty serious" case of it.
After cancelling his upcoming shows in Toronto, Washington DC, and New York, Justin opened up about the diagnosis: "It is from this virus that attacks the nerve in my ear in my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis." He added: "As you can see, this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move, so there’s full paralysis on this side of my face."
Everyone's clicking on...
He also addressed the shows he's had to cancel, saying: "For those who are frustrated by my cancellations of the next shows, I’m just physically, obviously not capable of doing them. This is pretty serious as you can see."
During the three-minute video, and after telling his 240 million Instagram followers that he wishes "this wasn't the case" but "obviously [his] body is telling [him] he has to slow down", Justin revealed how he has been doing facial exercises to try and regain movement. And after adding that it will take some time to recover, he went on to say "I hope you guys understand, and I’ll be using this time to just rest and relax and get back to 100% so I can do what I was born to do. But in the meantime, this ain’t it."
Naturally, the singer has received an influx of support from both fans, celebrity friends, and obviously his wife, Hailey Bieber, who wrote: "I love you baby." Other famous faces included Scooter Braun, Romeo Beckham, Kehlani, and DJ Khaled.
Get well soon, Justin!
