Unlike contouring, highlighting can make you look like you're glowing with health. To nail it in a natural way, do try this at home:
- For all-over dewiness dilute the coverage of your foundation by adding a liquid illuminator to it for an instant glow.
- Choose a cream highlighter (rather than a powder) and warm it in your hands first and gently 'pat' it onto the skin so it melts in without tell-tale stripes.
- If you have a pale skin tones opt for a golden highlighter, darker skin tones should try a bronze highlighter.
- Only add highlights on areas you want to enhance. Lighter colours stand out more to the natural eye so adding light to your bone structure will bring it forwards. Focus on your cheekbones, brow bones, bridge of the nose and collarbones - areas that would naturally catch the light.
- The same applies to your lips if you want to enhance their fullness. Some sheeny gloss in the centre it will instantly bring your lips forward making them appear bigger. Glossy lips also help bring the dewy look together.
- If you need to blot the bad shine, just use some translucent powder on you t-zone.
- Wear your hair up or back so you don't hide your highlights.
