Best for: Sleek waves
If you're more a fan of a Kardashian sleek wave than an Olsen twins bed head, this Philip B spray is for you. With a blend of pure botanicals and essential oils this will give you the sleek, shiny waves that you thought you could only achieve with a curling tong.

Best sea salt spray: Bumble and bumble
Best for: Full on waves with zero heat styling
If I had to pick a favourite out of all 9, this would be it. Bumble and bumble were the original pioneers of sea salt spray but I feel like they really mastered their formula with their Surf Foam Spray. It has enough grit to really give you actual, proper waves (with volume) without that horrible matted feeling.

Best for: Volume
Pricey yes, but Oribe's Wave Spray is pretty much Dolly Parton hair in a bottle. If you like your hair to spring from the roots, with lots of body and texture, it might just be worth the price tag. Plus it smells phenomenal so you know, makes going into your overdraft that much sweeter.

Best for: Waves on a budget
If you didn't think you could find a decent wave spray for under £5, you were sorely mistaken. Not only does this Phil Smith spray smell of coconuts, but it also gives some pretty cute, textured waves.

Best for: Fine hair
Designed to give you "a day at the beach hair" this spray is a must-have if your hair is on the finer side, as it gives lots of volume, but with a sleeker finish than the Oribe.

Best for: Zero crispiness
If you avoid sea salt sprays because you hate that crispy feeling *shudder* you need to try Ouai's version. Even when I sprayed about half a bottle of this in my hair, I still didn't have any matted strands or gross crispy ends.

Best for: That bed hair look
This will always have a special place in my heart as one whiff of this spray instantly takes me back to my family holidays when I was 15. If you want more of a messy, touseled look than an actual wave, you can't go wrong with a bit of John Frieda.

Best for: Dry hair
Technically this shouldn't be in here because it's actually a salt free formula, but that's exactly what makes it perfect for dry hair. Salt sprays can dry out your hair if used regularly, this Philip Kingsley version will give you beachy hair without any of the damage.

Best for: Knotty hair
Apparently Jennifer Aniston herself is a fan of this Sachajuan formula and I can totally see why. If you want waves without getting a dreadlock at the back of your neck, this tangle-free spray is a winner.
