An eau de parfum is the strongest concentration variation and indicates the oil's strength and how long the scent will linger. In addition, each perfume has a balance of notes – i.e., top, heart and base. Base notes stick around the longest and are typically richer and denser than their quicker-fading counterparts.
All these components interact with your body chemistry; oily skin will retain a scent best, notes will present differently on each individual, and some perfumes will last longer on some compared to others. Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Eau de Parfum 50ml
Describing scent is somewhat of a difficult task, but when it comes to my favourite of all time (uh hum, the one above), an eau naturel free-flow of fresh words just rolls off the tongue... pun intended.
Pungent, rich vanilla is the face of this sparkling iris fragrance; it's a head-turner but so is its ability to last all day and night. And by that I mean, your chair of once worn-yet-not clean enough for the wardrobe clothes will provide a gorgeous whiff every time you fling them off to eventually sort through. It's my fave for a reason, folks.
Top notes: Black Currant and Pear
Heart notes: Iris, jasmine and orange blossom
Base notes: Praline, vanilla, patchouli and tonka bean
Take the timeless sophistication of Chanel N°5 and sprinkle it with a zesty, fresh twist – and, voilà, you've got Chanel N°5 L'eau. I like to think of it as the cool (yet ~chic~) younger sister of the OG N°5, mixing citrus, floral, and musky notes in a light and airy blend with hints of its iconic predecessor lingering throughout. After wear-testing, I loved how it was less intense but still managed to stay put from day to night.

Kilian Paris Love, Don't Be Shy Eau de Parfum 50ml
Fun fact: Before launching her own perfume, Rihanna famously wore this very scent, and I think we can all agree that if it's good enough for the Queen of cool herself (and the million and one celebs who claim she smells like "heaven"), it's probably a pretty good contender. Take the flirty and playful of its delicious sweet notes, and add a little spice.
Top notes: Neroli, pink pepper, coriander
Heart notes: Iris, jasmine, rose, honeysuckle, orange blossom
Base notes: Musk, vanilla, civet, caramel, sugar
Juliette Has A Gun Powder Love Eau De Parfum 100ml
Despite the sugary notes, don't expect an intense sugar rush from Powder Love. Instead, the sweetness leans somewhat gourmand, but in a more simplistic musky and powdery way. Think more of the marshmallow's powdery dusting as opposed to the marshmallow itself, and of the delicate wisps of spun sugar creating the cotton candy as opposed to anything like a mouthful of it.
All that to say it's delicious, not over-indulgent. Long-lasting, not sickly.

Not that this one needs an introduction – or anyone needs me to rant again about how every sweater in my closet still exudes this aroma from many wears ago – but this is the warm, woody scent of our era. Don't think of Le Labo Santal 33 as just a perfume; it's the leather jacket and effortless cool persona of your style – the finishing touch that pulls your look and vibe together.
