Rumor has it Widow’s Bay is even “better than Martha’s Vineyard” and after watching season 1 of the brilliant horror-comedy, we have to agree. And, like we all knew it would, the show ended on a cliffhanger—specifically, some very ominous bell tolls. Fortunately, we haven’t packed our bags and seen the last of Widow’s Bay or its quirky inhabitants. Here’s what’s ahead (and while you’re waiting, might I recommend a Twin Peaks watch? It definitely scratches the itch).
Has Widow’s Bay Been Renewed for Season 2?
Hell yes. Apple TV announced a season two renewal on June 11.
When Does Widow’s Bay Season 2 Premiere?
Filming on season 1 took place in June 2025, so it took about a year for the series to make it from production to premiere. The season 2 filming schedule hasn’t been announced, but it seems safe to assume the show will follow a similar timeline and drop about 12 months after production starts.
What Are the Biggest Unanswered Questions from Widow’s Bay Season 1?
Ahem:
- For whom the bell tolls?! How many human sacrifices does this island want!
- What are the “teeth” that keep being mentioned?
- What is behind that mystery door? It certainly seems like some sort of monster is lurking in there—could it be the same creature we saw on the tourist video playing in Loftis’s hotel room?
- Who else knows about the island’s need for sacrifices? The video Dale watches in the bunker (which explains how the sacrifices work) was clearly made in recent history, which implies older members of the town are well aware that there was a sacrifice system. Who knows, who doesn’t, and what are they hiding?
- What’s with Shep Clark’s age being listed as 37?
- And on that note, how does time work on the island? Something seems off.
- What does the hand drawing mean? There are theories it could be a map to the underground tunnels in Widow’s Bay, but…
- What’s Loftis keeping in his basement that he doesn’t want Evan to see?
- Why did the Boogeyman allow Patricia to live when he was first attacking the town?
Who’s in the Widow’s Bay Season 2 Cast?
TBD, but seems safe to assume our faves will be back: Matthew Rhys, Kate O’Flynn, Stephen Root, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Carroll, Dale Dickey, K Callan, and Jeff Hiller.
What’s Widow’s Bay Season 2 About?
Only the writers’ room knows, but creator, showrunner, and executive producer Katie Dippold said, "Season two is about how everything is great on the island and there’s nothing to worry about.”
More accurately, the show will likely deal with the fallout from Loftis realizing his son Evan is the final descendant of Richard Warren, which means that for the town’s curse to truly be lifted, Evan has to die.
Welp, I’ll just be patiently waiting for next season if you need me.
