  • Nika posted her reaction to most of her scene being cut on Instagram.

In case you haven’t caught up on this week’s episode of Euphoria, Rue’s mom, Leslie, has finally made her way back to our screens…even if for a split second. The actor who plays Leslie opposite Zendaya, Nika King, seems to have a good attitude about most of her lines being cut from the episode. Nika shows up onscreen for a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, and she claims her mom had been “clowning” her for teasing her return all week leading up to the episode’s release.

“Y’all, I just watched my episode that I’ve been promoting all week, and my mom’s over here clowning me,” she said in a clip she posted to Instagram on Sunday, May 17.

“My mom is clowning me she said the internet waited all this time for me to just say one line,” she continued through laughter before she later added, “Who [needs] enemies when you have a mother like this? You better be glad I have a sense of humor!”

In the episode, Rue finally connects with Leslie during an emotional phone call after multiple attempts to reach her all season. It marks Nika’s first time onscreen since the show’s second season hit HBO in 2022.

“I want to be forgiven. I love you so much,” Rue says, in part, through tears, before the scene pans to her mom for a single line: “I love you, Rue.”

Nika even posted the scene, poking fun at her limited screen time with her caption. “DON’T BLINK,” she wrote. Check out the scene in question here:

Though she was only onscreen for one line, fans hyped up her performance in the comments section, with one writing, “‘I love you, Rue’ delivery was 10/10. See you next week,” and another adding, “We should’ve seen more of you. But, beautiful scene.” Someone else even commended how the interaction lent to the plot, writing, “This scene was beautiful and it wrecked me.”

While Nika shared she had been hyping up the scene on social media all week, she had previously teased her comeback to the fan-favorite HBO series since February, when she posted a still image from the scene to her TikTok profile.

Here’s to hoping we’ll get to see more of Nika further into the season!
