When Does ‘Running Point’ Come Back? Here’s the Full Season 2 Episode Release Schedule

Did you know that Running Point,the basketball comedy on Netflix starring Kate Hudson, is practically already back for season 2? Consider this your official nudge and reminder, because you don’t want to miss it.

Running Point was created by the dream team that is Mindy Kaling, Elaine Ko, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen. It’s loosely based on the true story of Jeanie Buss, the CEO of the Los Angeles Lakers–but very loosely. The first season premiered on February 27, 2025 and the series is already back. Only one year has passed, not two or (*cough* Stranger Things *cough*) three or four years. Can you believe it? We do get good things sometimes.

Hudson stars as Isla Gordon, the black sheep of a sports dynasty who finds herself in charge of the LA Waves, her family’s professional basketball team. Isla’s eldest brother Cam (Justin Theroux) stepped down to go to rehab in the pilot and named her as successor. The other two Gordon brothers, Sandy (Drew Tarver) and Ness (Scott MacArthur), are the chief financial officer and general manager of the Waves respectively. There’s also Ali Lee (Brenda Song), the chief of staff, and the Gordons’ recently identified half-brother Jackie Moreno (Fabrizio Guido).

Throughout the first season, Isla grew into her role and helped lead the team to the playoffs and the championship. However, they ultimately lost. Also, the coach is leaving. Then, when Isla returns to the office she sees Cam back at his old desk. Has all of her work been for nothing? It was kind of a dramatic cliffhanger for what is ostensibly a sitcom.
