Sorry to use an obvious pun, but if you’ve already devoured Beef season 2 on Netflix then odds are you’re wondering if the show is coming back for a third helping. Here’s what we do and don’t know about Beef season 3.

The first season of the Netflix anthology series about disputes between California residents from different social classes starred Steven Yeun and Ali Wong. The second pitted two couples (Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan as well as Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny) against each other at the country club where they all work.

If Beef gets a third season, presumably, we’ll be off to a new setting and a new cast. But first they have to actually, like, renew the dang thing. Any updates?

Is Beef season 3 actually happening?

As of the release of season 2, Netflix has not yet ordered Beef season 3. Again, so so so sorry, but the puns are just right there.

What kind of “beef” would season 3 be about?

Back in 2023, Beef creator Lee Sung Jin told Rolling Stone that he had three seasons at least outlined in his head. Presuming that that did not include the first season, that manes that he was prepared for season 3 and season 4. Personally, I think it would be fun to take on legacy beef, or an old grudge that resurfaces due to some incident. But with a concept like this, there are so many directions that it could take.

Who would be in the Beef season 3 cast?

Ooooh! That’s for them to know and us to speculate. Would you like to see more comedians take on on Beef’s dark sense of humor, like Wong in season 1? What about more actors who have played couples before, like Isaac and Mulligan in season 2? The show has set some interesting precedents for potential future casting.

The fact that Beef is an anthology series, and would cast new actors and not have to try to pin down the schedules of the old cast, in my humble opinion, is a big plus. There’s kind of no excuse not to go ahead with renewing this show.

When would Beef season 3 premiere (if it happens)?

Listen… there were three years between season 1 and season 2. That’s an unusually long time for most shows. I think we should all sit with the very real possibility that Beef gets renewed and we don’t see that season until 2029.
