There’s a moment of vulnerability between Victoria Javadi and Dr. Dennis Whitaker as she gets real about what it’s like to work at The Pitt in the show’s season 2 finale.
“No offense, but look what this place does to you. Langdon’s an addict…McKay was on house arrest. Dana’s a time bomb. Santos is one of the angriest people you are every going to meet…Mel? Samira has no life. Abbot’s an adrenaline junkie who gets shot at for fun. Robby’s got, like, PTSD or something way fucking worse,” she says.
Which leads Whitaker to ask her what she really thinks about him. However, her answer is never actually revealed on-screen, so we obviously had to ask actress Shabana Azeez during our chat for the show’s finale.
“Oh, I do know! I mean, we've seen him this season be completely unboundaried in certain ways,” she exclusively tells Cosmopolitan. “You know what? I think season three will answer that question. He's a complex little guy, but they're good friends. There’s a really sweet friendship and I love working with him.”
The season does end with Whitaker driving away with Amy and her son at the end of his shift, showing just how serious their relationship is after just a few months. This conversation also helps Javadi realize that she wants to get into Emergency Psychiatry, so some very interesting changes coming to these characters and their futures.
Season three is already confirmed and there will be an time jump, so it will be very interesting how things shake out for these two as they try to survive another shift on The Pitt. One thing is for sure, we will definitely be tuning in and watching!
