Dear Netflix, if you’re reading this, that means you’re just like us and you one hundred percent want more episodes of XO, Kitty. And if you aren’t Netflix and reading this, then hopefully we can provide some major answers for you. Thankfully, the show is making its big return for another season. So is XO, Kitty coming back for season 2?
The short answer is: YES! The show was renewed on June 14, 2023, with the cast announcing the news through a cute video that had us absolutely freaking out as much as Anna Cathcart was over the big reveal.
Considering how big of a hit the show has been since it originally came out, it’s not too much of a surprise. And we definitely need to know what happens next, so this is a huge win!
What would season 2 be about?
Well, Kitty is on her way back to America, which is not great. But who is on her flight? None other than Min Ho, who decides that a multi-hour flight back to America is the right time to reveal that he is in love with her. Oh yeah, and Kitty also found out that her mom had another first love. So basically, she better find a way to get back to Korea or else so she can figure this all out.
As for Kitty's personal journey, leading lady Anna Cathcart recently dished that she doesn't necessarily think that her character needs to have romantic ties to anyone come season 2. "I’ve definitely brought up a few times — even just in conversation with writers — and with different people on the show about where this could go," she told Us Weekly in March 2023. "I think Kitty doesn't always need to be with [a] person either. I think Kitty’s story is kind of a love letter to the world."
"She's so excited about so many things and learning about her family and helping out her friends and discovering just what the world has to offer," Anna added. "It's not just a love story with another partner necessarily. I think a lot of her love comes from a lot of different directions."
When would XO, Kitty season 2 come out?
The new season will be out on January 16, 2025 and we already got our first sneak peek with a trailer that will absolutely get you excited especially since someone special is back from the TATBILB universe!
