Coachella weekend two is finally wrapping up with the final set of performances, and THANK GOD for that because after missing Sabrina Carpenter and Madonna’s set IRL, I personally am filled with an extreme amount of FOMO….FOMO that has only increased now that Addison Rae brought Olivia Rodrigo out as a surprise guest during her set on Saturday, April 18. Yes, really.
While performing her track, “Headphones On,” Addison sang the v relatable line, “I compare my life to the new It Girl,” and then paused for dramatic effect as Olivia appeared on the stage in a pink leather bra and low-rise blue jeans.
I am truly not okay:
Olivia and Addison then continued the song as a duet before moving on to sing “Drop Dead,” the newly released first single from Olivia’s forthcoming album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. The performance doubled as Olivia’s live debut of the track, which arrived on April 17.
Olivia’s performance with Addison comes on the heels of her revealing that releasing new music made her feel vulnerable in a recent interview with Zane Lowe at Apple Music.
“It’s scary,” the pop star admitted. “I haven’t put out music in a long time and it’s a really vulnerable thing to be like this is what I’ve been going through, this is what I’ve been thinking about. It’s a very unique experience to like be so personal on such a large scale.”
Olivia added, “But I love it, I think it’s the reason why I love writing songs so much is because I get to process that for myself and then therefore maybe help other people kind of process it and feel it. But it is it’s nerve-wracking, I’d be lying if I if I said it was like, ‘Wow this feels totally normal and like intuitive.’”
