Iam personally still dreaming of Olivia Rodrigo’s look at the 2023 Met Gala, and there’s no universe where she wouldn’t have shut down the “Costume Art” red carpet last night. But sadly, it looks like Livies will have to wait another year (hopefully not longer!) for Olivia to be back on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Olivia decided to skip this year’s event likely because she’s gearing up for her upcoming third album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, as well as her Unraveled Tour. Plus, she also dropped a Like on a post about boycotting the “Bezos Met Gala,” which feels like a hint!

Thankfully, she did make the time to step out for the Saint Laurent after-party at People’s bar, wearing a veeeery chic vintage Vivienne Westwood dress from the ’90s.

Speaking of OR3, Liv gave alllll the details to her best friend Madison Hu during her Cosmopolitan cover story interview.

“With this album, I actually was like, ‘I’m done with the sophomore one. Now I can have fun again,’” Olivia said. “I was writing songs the way I did when I was 16, purely for fun. There were some beautiful moments, like, ‘Whoa, it’s flowing out,’ which feels like catching a butterfly in a net.”

She also chatted about how much has changed since SOUR, saying, “I was so young then and felt like the world was on my shoulders and that I had to have everything together. I was motivated, but there was fear. Now I feel a lot more self-assured. My passion and work ethic come from a place of positivity rather than a scared mindset.”

“For five years, I got to travel the world, perform on awards shows that had always been dreams of mine,” she added. “It was trial by fire—if I can get through this really high-pressure situation, I can get through anything. But knowing I had people around me like you, I could go up onstage and miss a note and still be loved.”
